Victoria Kimani, born in Los Angeles, California is originally from Kenya.

She started writing, recording and performing music at the age of 16. Following her high school years in Nigeria, she moved back to Nairobi for a short while, with the intention to pursue her music full time.

Although, she travelled between Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York and London working with top line artists and producers including Chris Brown and Timberland amongst others.

In 2010, she performed a cover of Ice Prince’s hit song OLEKU and from this caught the attention of Chocolate City executives. By the end of 2012, Victoria was signed on as Chocolate City Kenya’s first lady and has since been relocated to Kenya.

Victoria Kimani has released her first official single off her soon to be released “SAFARI” album. The track titled “GOTA” is the singer/songwriter’s first ever song in her native Swahili language, and it was produced by Chocolate City Producer Reinhard, and features Congolese band AIRLINE.

“GOTA” was premiered earlier today on Kiss FM Nairobi and received positive reviews from listeners who called in and sent in messages of support on social media.

Victoria Kimani who recently released “All The Way” featuring Khuli Chana says “I am excited about this song because of the energy and passion with which it was made. I know it is something my fans across Africa will be proud of.”

The singer who has been influenced by Nigerian, Kenya and American cultural influences just concluded recording her first ever album which is due to be released before the end of the year. The album “SAFARI” lends credence to her image as a wholly pan-African artiste with a global sound who is proud of her African roots.

“GOTA” is available on iTunes and other major music platforms globally.

Victoria Kimani is back with “All the Way” featuring South African heartthrob and hip-hop legend, Khuli Chana. She pays homage to one of Africa’s first female pop star, Angelique Kidjo. In her classic song “Wombo Lombo” which she (from Benin Republic, sang in Yoruba) – This is Kimani’s way of breaking language barriers and stereotypes in African music, as she too is Kenyan singing in multiple languages, introducing an R&B culture to Africa and this sound being the focus point in her debut Album which she is currently wrapping up.
