A disgruntled resident of Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos State has revealed new photos of a street within the Peninsula that has been flooded despite the fact that it hasn’t rained in over two months.
Emma Abimbola Cole street in Lekki phase 1 was pictured on January 6, with cars wading through the mini flood.
The area is reported to have been waterlogged throughout the harmattan season making the source of the flood even harder to understand.
To make matters worse, the area underneath the water has now degraded making it treacherous for cars in general but worse for smaller ones.
The resident went on to say that the residents have previously been told that the flooding was being caused by broken water board pipes around the flooded area.
Commenting on the photos taken of the street, another resident commented:
“E gbo, Lekki residents how far?”
They have now pleaded for the photos to be publicised which would hopefully draw the attention of the necessary authorities to the situation.
